India. According to the report, this game has been banned due to Chinese
connection. The Central Security Agency had reported about thisAfter
this, a letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) received to the Ministry
of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) banned this game in India.
A News18 report has claimed about this. It has been told
in the report that this game was harvesting user's data. This was a cyber
threat. Targeted cyber attacks could be done on Indian users by
profiling using user's data.
According to senior officials, several flaws were found
in BGMI. The most important in this was to communicate directly or indirectly
with servers located in China. The report quoted the source as saying that the rebranded
apps that are communicating with the servers located in China.They will also be
banned in the coming time.
After several rounds of analysis by Indian agencies,
Google was asked to remove this battle royale game from the Play Store.
It was told
in the analysis that this app had malicious codes. Apart from this, it also
demanded many critical permissions.
It has been told in the report that with this, users'
data can be kept under surveillance through cameras, microphones, location
tracking and malicious networks. These apps are a threat to the security of India. As soon
as these inputs were received, action was taken on it.
The official order banning BGMI in India has not yet
surfaced. But, Meity has started the process regarding this and it
has been removed from the App Stores. Recently, the game's developer Krafton has said that it
is working on bringing the game back.
